Accounts

You need an account to comment. Article submissions do not need one: they are sent by email, as described under Write for us. Give an email address you can actually receive mail at, since it is how we reach you about a moderation decision. Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what is posted from your account.

You must be at least 18 years old to hold an account.

What you post

You keep the copyright in anything you write here. By posting or submitting it you give us permission to publish it on this site, to keep it in the archive, and to quote it in a correction or an explanation of a moderation decision. That permission is not exclusive and you can keep publishing your own words anywhere else you like.

Only post material you have the right to post. Do not paste in other people's articles wholesale, whether from the Prince George Citizen or anywhere else.

What is acceptable is set out on the moderation policy page, which forms part of these terms. Comments are read before they appear, and a comment that is turned down leaves a public notice giving the reason.

What we post

Entries on this site are summaries with links to the original reporting. Copyright in that reporting belongs to whoever published it. We do not reproduce it, and a link here is not a licence for you to reproduce it either.

We try to summarize fairly and to correct what we get wrong. Tell us about mistakes through the contact and corrections page.

Suspension

We may withhold a comment, remove content, or suspend an account under the moderation policy. Every such action is recorded in our moderation log. If you think a decision was wrong, the policy explains how to challenge it.

No warranty

The site is provided as it is. We do not promise it will always be available, accurate or complete. Comments express the views of the people who wrote them, not ours.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site or from anything published on it by another user.

Changes

These terms may change. When they do, the date at the top of this page changes with them, and material changes will be noted on the site.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the laws of Canada that apply there.
