Corrections

If something on this site is wrong, tell us. Quote the entry and say what is wrong and, if you can, how you know. We would rather be corrected by you than leave an error standing.

When a factual error in a published entry is corrected, a correction is added openly at the bottom of that entry, saying what was wrong, what has changed, and when. The original is not quietly rewritten. A correction that nobody can see is not a correction.

Disagreeing with a moderation decision

If a comment of yours was withheld and you think the decision was wrong, write to the same address and quote the entry and the date. There is no formal appeals process and no promised turnaround. A decision that turns out to have been wrong gets reversed, and the reversal is recorded in the moderation log beside the original. The standing reasons are set out on the moderation policy page.

If you are written about here

If you are named in an entry or a comment and you believe it is inaccurate or unfair, write to us and we will look at it promptly. You do not need a lawyer to get our attention.

Write for us

PG Unspun accepts original articles from readers — reporting, analysis, or informed opinion on Prince George. Original pieces are marked as such and carry your byline.

Submissions are edited before publishing: for grammar, clarity, length, and house style, the same as any outlet would do for a contributor. We will not change your argument or your conclusions without asking you first. If a factual claim needs a source, we will ask you for one before it runs, not after.

We can decline a submission, including for reasons unrelated to its argument — space, timeliness, or overlap with something already covered. A decline is not a verdict on whether you were right.

Story tips

Tips are welcome at the same address. It is ordinary email, with no encryption and no anonymity built in, so do not send anything through it that would put you at risk if it were read by someone else.

If a tip is sensitive, some practical precautions worth taking:

• Use an email address that isn't tied to your name. A free ProtonMail or Tutanota account, created without your real details, works well.
• Don't send a sensitive tip from a work computer, work email, or your employer's network — internal IT logs can show what sites were visited and when, even without reading message content.
• If in doubt, send less detail rather than more in a first message. You can always tell us more once we've agreed on how to talk further.

We are a small independent outlet, not a newsroom with dedicated secure-drop infrastructure. We'll always tell you plainly what we can and can't protect, rather than promise more than we can deliver.
